The 34th edition of the Vasai Taluka Kala Krida Mahotsav has witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 55,000 competitors. Since December 26th to 31st, 1990, this festival has been a vibrant celebration under the leadership of the late MLA Hitendra Thakur. The prelude to the festival includes the appropriate observance of the Christmas festival and the organization of a fitness run. Notably, Vasai residents like the resilient Yogesh Patil, Prashant Chavan, Swapnil Patil, and Pramod Choudhary, who completed the challenging ‘Comrade Run’ covering 90 km in South Africa, will be present. Joining them is Sabi Dias, the Managing Director of the Bassein Catholic Bank, as the chief guest.

On December 26th, the main inauguration ceremony will be graced by former Indian women’s cricket team captain Diana Edulji, senior actor Sunil Barve, and eminent director Chandrakant Kulkarni. The event will also be attended by Municipal Commissioner Anilkumar Pawar, MLA Kshitij Thakur, Rajesh Patil, former police officer Baliram Jadhav, former Mayor Rajiv Patil, First Lady Mayor Pravina Thakur, Narayan Mankar, Rupesh Jadhav, and Pravin Shetty.

This year, archery, skating, Rubik’s cube competitions have been included in the festival and demonstrations of wrestling and dahihandi will be presented. This year two new groups under 8 years and above 60 years have been added in the swimming competition. This information was given by my mayor Praveen Shetty and general secretary of the festival Prakash Vanmali. Santosh Valvikar, Manik Dotonde sir and other officials were present on this occasion.
