Political Heat Rises in Vasai-Virar

With civic polls just around the corner, the political atmosphere in Vasai-Virar has become increasingly charged. The Supreme Court has directed the State Election Commission to conduct local body elections before January 31, leading to a flurry of political activity across Maharashtra — and especially in Vasai-Virar.

Local parties have intensified their campaigns through meetings, rallies, and inauguration ceremonies, all aimed at connecting with voters and strengthening their grassroots presence.

400 Party Workers Join Bahujan Vikas Aghadi

In a grand event held in Virar on Sunday, around 300 to 400 workers from various political parties and social organizations officially joined the Bahujan Vikas Aghadi in the presence of party president Hitendra Thakur.

Following the induction ceremony, the new members participated in a bike rally across the city — a striking show of unity and strength that attracted the attention of locals and media alike.

Former Mayor Highlights BVA’s Development Work

During a media interaction, former Mayor Rupesh Jadhav highlighted the extensive development work done under the leadership of Hitendra Thakur over the past three and a half decades.

He remarked, “Who built the roads, flyovers, and ensured water supply for Vasai-Virar? The people know our work. If anyone has truly transformed Vasai-Virar, it’s Hitendra Thakur.”

Jadhav also took a subtle jab at the opposition, stating, “This is just the beginning,” indicating that BVA plans to make a strong comeback in the upcoming Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation elections.
