The long-awaited Vasai road development works have officially begun, bringing relief to residents who have been raising concerns about poor road conditions in several areas. The municipal corporation has approved improvement works for 14 major roads across the Vasai constituency, marking a significant step toward better infrastructure and connectivity.

Three of these projects were inaugurated on Thursday, November 6, by MLA Sneha Dube Pandit, who has been actively advocating for the repair and modernization of Vasai’s deteriorating roads.

Citizens’ Complaints Lead to Action

For months, residents from Vasai and nearby Boisar Assembly constituencies had voiced their frustration over damaged and unsafe roads, which made daily commutes increasingly difficult. Responding to their grievances, MLA Sneha Dube Pandit met Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to request urgent funding for road restoration and development.

Following her request, the government directed the Vasai-Virar City Municipal Corporation (VVCMC) to fast-track the necessary works. The corporation has since completed the administrative process and issued work orders for all 14 projects.

Phase One Work Begins

In the first phase of the Vasai road development plan, work has commenced on several key stretches, including:

  • Waliv village to Range Office Road
  • Sativali Khind to Range Office Road
  • Range Office to Gokhivare Lake Road

Additionally, pothole repair work has started on the 100 Feet Road in Vasai West, one of the busiest thoroughfares in the region.

The remaining 11 projects are expected to begin in the coming days. These include major connecting roads leading to Manikpur Naka, Dattani Mall, Vasai Gaon, Bangli Hospital, Devtalav, Killa Bunder, and Nirmal.

MLA Sneha Dube Pandit Speaks on the Initiative

Speaking at the inauguration, MLA Sneha Dube Pandit emphasized the importance of good roads in everyday life.

“Roads are a fundamental necessity for every citizen. Quality and safe roads are the first step toward true development,” she said. “With the necessary funds now secured, we are executing these projects on a war footing to ensure timely completion.”

A Step Toward Better Infrastructure in Vasai

The Vasai road development initiative is expected to significantly reduce travel time, improve safety, and enhance the overall quality of life for residents. Local authorities have assured citizens that strict quality checks will be maintained during construction to ensure durability and proper drainage — key concerns during the monsoon season.
