On Tuesday, two activists of Raj Thackeray-led MNS (Maharashtra Navnirman Sena) created a ruckus at a public Programme attended by Maharashtra cabinet minister Eknath Shinde. The incident took place at Vasai in Palghar district.
As per reports, police handled the situation and immediately took the activists into custody.
The police stated that the activists sneaked into the programme and started shouting slogans against the civic administration. While the video of the duo creating ruckus has gone viral on social media, their action was justified by MNS Thane and Palghar unit chief Avinash Jadhav.
Jadhav stated that they have been trying to get an appointment from the VVMC (Vasai Virar municipal corporation) commissioner to draw his attention towards rampant unauthorized constructions in the town during the lockdown. However, the VVMC commissioner didn’t give them an appointment to discuss the matter.
He further stated that police didn’t allow the MNS workers to enter the Programme but two of their workers managed to enter. He said he is proud of the two workers for making their voice heard.
