Three persons from Rajodi village in Vasai tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday taking the number of cases to 14. Two deaths have been reported from the Palghar district.
The men had arrived at their Rajodi homes on March 21. They had travelled from Boston in US (via Doha). They were in the isolation ward at Bolinj, Virar (west). They tested positive on Saturday.
The swab results of 106 patients are awaited while 105 persons were tested negative in Palghar district.
So far 1,118 persons have been screened and 483 persons are under home quarantine in Palghar district. A total of 106 persons are under institutional quarantine. Another 467 persons have completed their 14 days incubation period and have not shown any signs of the virus.
Throat swabs of 226 persons, including 30 symptomatic passengers, 147 high risk contacts and 49 Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) patients.
Two deaths have been reported. A 50-year-old man died of COVID-19 in the Palghar rural hospital on March 31.
Another death of a 68-year-old Vasai man was reported from a private hospital in Nalasopara.
