Police arrest teenagers for stealing laptops

A 15-member gang of laptop robbers, including four minors, was arrested by the Vasai police on Saturday. The gang was known to target bus and train commuters. Shashikant Mahavarkar, additional superintendent of police (ASP), Vasai Circle, said that the gang members are from Andhra Pradesh and live in Kalwa. "They divided themselves in two teams - one stationed at Mira Road station and other at a parking lot near the Nallasopara State Transport bus depot," added Mahavarkar.

Faster travel between Virar and Dahanu from Dec 2009

Commuters travelling from Virar to Dahanu have a reason to cheer. Railway officials are undertaking technical work on this 30-km section on the fast track so as to run locals by December 2009.
