Jha was assaulted as he was chatting with a few of his friends after the Durga Idol immersion around midnight of Saturday and Sunday.

The cops of Waliv police station, Vasai East, have registered a case of murder and arrested three of the accused. They are looking for other ac complices.

Locals have also confirmed that the accused had assaulted a group of five people of which four are recuperating in a local hospital while one is dead.

Jha had an altercation with some of the accused a couple of days ago.
